On Friday, August 30, 2024 a signing ceremony took place at Robert Service School in Dawson City to commemorate the signing of a governance agreement between Tr'ondëk Hwë'chin Government and Yukon Education.
Representatives from TH Government, TH Education, Yukon Government and Robert Service School were present, along with students, staff and members of the community. Those present witnessed the letter of agreement being signed by Yukon Education Minister Jeanie McLean and Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin First Nation councillor Kyrie Nagano.
“The agreement ceremony is about the TH government and the Yukon Government agreeing to work together on all matters related to education,” said by RSS teacher Mr. Menzies. The agreement will influence how K-12, college, university, and daycare educational services are provided on Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in territory.
